There are a few tools which will be fairly essential for starting any sort of collage-based artwork, although not all of these are required, and I have listed some alternatives which can be used:

• A pair of scissors.

• Craft knife.

• Hole punch.

• Needle - fairly large with a sharp point.

• Fork.

• Putty rubber (plasticine could be used instead).

• PVA glue.

• An iron.

• Palette of some kind (or an old plate).

• Cake scraping tool (credit card or old plastic/metal can be used).

• Cutting board, to protect your table from knife marks!

• Greaseproof baking paper.
